Overview of Boron nitride Powder

The industrial powder Boron Nitride a pure white ceramic material with an hexagonal crystal structure comparable to graphite. Boron nitride can withstand temperatures of up to 2,000 degrees Celsius, and depending on the grade, its dielectric strengths are around 1000 volts/mil. Boron Nitride is hot-pressed in forms of billets, which can be easily processed into rods or plates and even customized forms .

What are the uses of Boron Nitride?

With regard to optical applications, due to the extremely hardness of the cBN film, and also the very high transmittance across the wavelength range of ultraviolet(from approximately 200 nm)to far infrared. This makes it suitable as a coating on the surface of certain optical components. It can be used as a coating of window material such as zinc selenide(ZnSe)and zinc sulfide(ZnS).In the same way, it has excellent temperature shock resistance and hardness. It will soon become one of the best window materials for high-power optical components and lasers.
